Pricing released for Friends of Old-Time Radio Convention

Yes, it’s true — we like old time radio (OTR) here at First Arkansas News.

OK, to be fair the owner of this site is borderline obsessed with OTR. To that end, we’re playing up the long-running Friends of Old-Time Radio Convention because this is the last year it will ever be held. That’s right — the event has been going on for 36 years and will ride off into the sunset after it is held for one more time on Oct. 20-23 at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Newark, N.J. Anyone who has said “I’ll go next year” when hearing of past events may want to consider that there will be no more “next years” for the convention.If you miss it this time around, it’s just plain gone.

The organizers of the event have released the pricing for the convention as follows:

Reserve your spot as soon as possible. Prepaid tickets are held at the door.

* Thursday, October 20; Daytime only (9 am – 5 pm); $20 if paid in advance; $25.00 at the door.

* Thursday, October 20; Daytime and evening including buffet dinner (9 am – closing) $58.00; Discount of $5.00 for those over 60 and under 16.

* Friday, October 21: Daytime only (9 am – 5:30 pm) $20.00 if paid in advance; $25.00 at the door.

* Friday, October 21: Daytime and evening including buffet dinner (9 a.m. – closing) $70.00. Discount of $5.00 for those over 60 and under 16.

* Saturday, October 22: Daytime only (9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) $20.00 if paid in advance; $25.00 at the door.

* Saturday, October 22: Daytime and evening including buffet dinner (9 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.) $76.00. Discount of $5.00 for those over 60 and under 16.

*Sunday, October 23: Morning including buffet breakfast and panel, 7:00 to 11:00 am: $25.

* Complimentary coffee, tea and muffins early Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings; complimentary hors d’oeuvres Friday and Saturday evenings. Hors d’oeuvres for dinner guests only.

* Dealer’s Tables are $65 for all tables.
