Holiday OTR: You Are There — Phildelphia, July 4, 1776

By: 4 July 2011 One Comment

Happy Fourth of July, everyone.

Hopefully, the miserable rainstorms that are fixing to hit central Arkansas aren’t a problem where you live and you’ll be setting off fireworks (or watching a display) later this evening.

Before going out for a night of patriotic fun, however, why not take a few moments and listen to an old time radio episode that does a fairly good job at telling about the birth of the United States? Yes, today’s episode of You Are There plays rather like a newscast centered on the signing of the Declaration of Independence. It’s fun and educational — that’s a heck of a combination, kids.

Of course, you OTR fans will want to check out this week’s Lum and Abner comic strip (if you haven’t already done so) and the truly adventurous folks will want to hear the first two episodes of our own bit of modern audio theater, the Super Weasel Lawyer Team.

Of course, today’s bit of OTR fun is courtesy of OTRCat.com. If you’re in the market for some fine old time radio entertainment, pay The Cat a visit and just marvel at those unbelievably low prices.

Click the below player, enjoy the show and get all patriotic.
