Local missionary needs your help

By: 1 June 2011 No Comment

A few months ago, First Arkansas News readers were introduced to Christ Ledbetter, a 25-year-old Benton man who put his job at Southwest Mortgage Company on hold to spend close to a year as a Christian missionary.

In January, the globetrotting Ledbetter set out on his trip to do missionary work in 11 countries in Africa, Asia, Central America and South America. He’s close to the halfway mark, but is in need of a little more cash to complete his trip. Ledbetter’s trip is through Adventures in Missions and it costs $14,300 to cover all of his expenses. As of mid-May, Ledbetter wrote from Nicaragua, saying he was $1,700 from his goal.

Churches here in Saline County have been raising money for Ledbetter’s trip and we at First Arkansas News have been asked to spread the word about the man’s efforts to get enough cash to figure out his trip. Visitors can check up on Ledbetter’s work and his progress through his Facebook page and through his site at

Want to help out Ledbetter? Donations can be submitted online here and checks can be sent to:

Adventures In Missions
P.O. Box 534470
Atlanta, GA 30353-4470

If you do send in a check, make sure to put “Chris Ledbetter” in the memo line so they’ll know who is to receive your donation.
