Weekend OTR: Sad Sack Returns Home from the Army

By: 6 May 2011 One Comment

It’s been a dreary, rain-soaked week featuring a lot of flooding in this part of the world.

It’s time to relax and have a little fun, huh? That being the case, we’re rolling out an episode from the Sad Sack old time radio series. Sad Sack, of course, started out as a comic strip character character created by Sgt. George Baker who entertained troops during World War II as he was constantly humiliated and thrown into one ridiculous situation after another. The OTR episode offered up for your listening pleasure this weekend revolves around Sad Sack returning home form the Army and finding that thing are still tough in civilian life.

This episode, as usual, is brought to you by our friends at Visit The Cat for some great deals on your favorite old time radio programs. Of course, you can find more old time radio goodness here at First Arkansas News in our Weekend OTR series and our OTR Serials section.

Also, make sure to visit later this weekend for an OTR episode celebrating Mother’s Day.

Click the below player and enjoy the show.
