Holiday OTR: Norman Corwin — On a Note of Triumph

By: 28 May 2011 One Comment

It’s time for the weekend so that means we’ve got another installment in our Weekend OTR series ready here at First Arkansas News.

Of course, we’re sticking with a holiday theme seeing how this is Memorial Day Weekend. In observance of the holiday, then, we’ve selected a fascinating episode — Norman Corwin’s highly dramatic special that was released after Germany surrendered to the Allies. The thing rolls on for about an hour, but this episode is hard to beat for those who are curious about how Americans viewed the Nazis after years of war. For those looking for some lighter entertainment this weekend, have no fear — a Great Gildersleeve episode will be posted on Sunday.

As always, this old time radio episode was provided by our friends at OTRCat.com. If you’re an old time radio fan, you really need to pay The Cat a visit.
