Arkansas Author: Lela Davidson

By: 29 May 2011 No Comment

Name: Lela Davidson

Location: Rogers

Occupation: Writer, Media Consultant, Facebook Junkie

Book title: Blacklisted from the PTA

Publisher: Jupiter Press, imprint of Wyatt-MacKenzie Publishing, Inc.

What’s the book about?

The book consists of 62 short stories from the driveway, the piano recital, the awful date night, and anywhere else suburban marrieds-with-children congregate. These are small stories of family life – the poignant along with the ridiculous. I write about what makes me laugh.

You’re a prolific writer who has been published in various other books, etc. Where else do you write?

I have been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms, as well as dozens of parenting magazines across the United States and Canada. Locally, I write two columns, After the Bubbly and Chasing Date Night, for Peekaboo magazine. And of course, I’m extremely Google-able.

What inspires you to write?

I’m not sure if inspired is the word – more like obsessed. If it didn’t sound so cliche I’d say I write to quiet the voices. It’s a little true. I replay a scenario in my head, imagining how I’d tell someone about it, until I can get it down on paper.

What else would you like our readers to know?

Even if you don’t like to read, you’ll love Blacklisted from the PTA. Why? Simple, all the stories can be read in five minutes! I’d love to meet you and your book club, so  look me up at And finally, please come to the launch party 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 12 at Aloft in Rogers.
