Spring Into Business Expo coming April 16 to Rogers

By: 3 April 2011 One Comment

ROGERS—The 2nd Annual Spring Into Business Expo features many new vendors and a new location, but will have the same focus on helping the public learn about products and services from local businesses.

This year’s Spring Into Business Expo is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at the Frisco Station Mall in Rogers. The event has its own Facebook page, which is where information about new vendors is being added.

Started in 2010, the Spring Into Business Expo was designed to give home-based businesses in Northwest Arkansas a storefront for a day. Event Coordinator Jamie Smith realized that locally owned businesses that were trying to get started during the economic downturn needed just as much help.

“This event, obviously held during the spring, was named with a deeper purpose,” Smith said. “It celebrates those who are ‘springing in to business’ despite the economy, despite not having the advantage of street recognition.”

Nathan Wilson, manager of Winds of Change Leaseholding, LLC, plans to be a returning vendor. He was able to sell a wind turbine through contacts made at the expo last year. He also offers energy efficiency audits for homes and offices.

“Upon setting up a booth, I was amazed to walk around and look at the wonderful small businesses with a wide variety of products and services,” he said. “I think the public would be very interested in all the items they can find at the expo.”

This event is designed for all ages, backgrounds and interests. Because of this, all business participating in the expo are required to sell family-friendly products and services.

Most vendors will be offering door prizes and other incentives. A grand prize drawing will be held that offers the winner a free cruise (taxes and fees are the responsibility of the winner).
