Practicing Your Path series coming to Rogers

By: 12 March 2011 2 Comments

ROGERS–A seminar series coming to Rogers will help give insight into five spiritual disciplines that are not as commonly practiced but very commonly misunderstood within the Christian faith.

The series starts March 19.

The Practicing Your Path Spiritual Discipline Series will feature five, all-day seminars each highlighting a different spiritual discipline that is considered a foundation of the Christian faith. The seminars will be presented by Cari Kaufman of Strings Attached Ministries.

Each discipline draws on biblical practices that are often lost and forgotten in today’s modern culture. This non-denominational seminar series returns to those time-tested practices, explores their foundations and discusses how modern-day Christians can use the practices as a tool to expand their faith.

“If you want to master something, you practice. Our walk of faith is no different—it requires practice.” Kaufman said.

Kaufman travels all over the country speaking to various groups about a variety of topics related to building their faith and relationships. She said recently that that when she shares about speaking engagements she’s participating in across the country, many women from Northwest Arkansas often tell her they wish they could hear what she has to say.

Many of those events are either too far away for women from the NWA region to attend or they are closed events designed for a specific audience. So, Kaufman is bringing some of her material to the women of Northwest Arkansas.

Each seminar will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day of each event. All seminars will be at the Global Outreach Center at Immanuel Baptist Church. Participants will receive a workbook and a catered lunch as part of the $30 registration fee. A discount is available for signing up for all five seminars at the same time.

The dates of the seminars are:

  • March 19—Practicing Sabbath: Rediscovering God’s Design for Rest
  • April 9—Practicing the Fast: Taking Yourself Out of the Equation
  • May 21—Embracing the Call: Discovering Your Purpose
  • June 11—Practicing Hospitality: Creating Welcoming Spaces for God, for Others and for Yourself
  • August 13—Practicing Prayer and Action: Living a Life of Intercession
