Weekend OTR: Jack Benny’s Christmas party

By: 11 December 2010 2 Comments

It’s the weekend and we all know what that means, don’t we?

Yes, another fun-filled old time radio episode. One of the first regular features we put together here at First Arkansas News is the Weekend OTR series.

Believe it or not, we’re sticking with the Christmas theme this weekend for reasons that are pretty well obvious at this point. Back when old time radio was king, holiday specials were both dandy fun and all kinds of enjoyable. We’re presenting some of that sheer dandiness in our thrilling Holiday OTR series, so stop by often — you never know when the Christmas spirit will take hold and an episode will be posted at random.

As always, this episode is brought to your by our good friends at OTRCat.com. Got an old time radio fan on your list? You’re in luck. The Cat always has great prices and he’s posted up some Christmas and winter-themed collections on sale so you can save even more money right now.

Hey, the economy is an absolute wreck, but don’t let that stop you from picking up a unique gift that will be appreciated by the OTR fan in your life. And for you last minute shoppers, there’s still time to order something from The Cat and have it show up in plenty of time for Christmas. You can order audio or MP3 CDs and transfer those files anywhere.

By the way, here’s an idea. Grab some MP3 discs from The Cat, an easy-to-use device such as the Sansa Clip MP3 player, transfer the files to the player and you’ve just put together a great gift for $50 or less. Use the aforementioned links and you can pick up all that stuff through the Internet and avoid all those Christmas shopping crowds. Not bad.

Having said all of that, click the below link and listen to a great episode of the Jack Benny show.
