‘First Arkansas News’ passes 100,000 hits

By: 24 November 2010 One Comment

Here’s something no one expected to see happen until sometime next year — First Arkansas News has received over 100,000 unique hits this year.

Why is that exciting? We’ve only been around since April 16 and were hoping — at the time — to work up to 2,000 unique visits per week. We passed that mark a long time ago and visitors keep dropping in to see what’s new around here. Indeed, we’re receiving 5,000 to 6,000 unique visits per week regularly these days and hope to build from there.

While this site remains a hobby to the writers here, we’ve made the decision to start looking for more advertisers. First Arkansas News is not — and it will probably never be — the soul means of support for anyone. Still, most of the writers here are either working print journalists or have been in the past. We like reporting and would also like to cover our site expenses and make a buck or two in the process. If you’re an advertiser who’d like your message on a very visible site that still has very low rates, click here and check out some details.

As for our regular visitors, we thank you all for stopping in regularly. We hope you’ll consider to do so. If you’d like to make it more convenient to keep up with us, click here for our RSS feed or click here to keep up with updates by email (a very cool option, by the way).

Meanwhile, we’ll keep reporting the news and hope people keep finding it useful.
