Weekend OTR: Father Knows Best — An Uncontrolled Dog

By: 20 August 2010 One Comment

It’s another weekend and we all know what that means, don’t we?

It’s time for an installment in the almost famous Weekend OTR series here at First Arkansas News. As always, we’ve got a great program for you today and it’s brought to you by our friends at OTRCat.com. If you’re interested in picking up some great old time radio programs for a few pennies per episode, click the aforementioned link and pay The Cat a visit.

This week, we’re featuring an episode of Father Knows Best, that family-friendly radio comedy that starred Robert Young. This particular episode is from The Cat’s Dog Collection (just hit the aforementioned link and run a search if you don’t see it on the front page) and features 51 canine-themed shows for a mere $5.

Having said all of that, adjust your headphones (or turn up your speakers), click the below link and enjoy the show:

It’s nice to hear these “Father Knows Best” shows! Three people (at least) associated with the National Lum and Abner Society were involved with the radio show: Writer, Roz Rogers, Rhoda Williams who played the older daughter, and Sam Edwards who was a “boyfriend” in some episodes. I’m sure there were other “Lum and Abner” crossovers as well. OTR is truly great entertainment! Thanks, Ethan!
