Introducing — a calendar of events

By: 19 August 2010 One Comment

It seems there are a lot of things happening around this great state of ours and it would be a shame if we at First Arkansas News didn’t allow people to submit their events for publication here.

So — you guessed it — an events calendar has been added to the site. Want to give it a look? Sure you do! Just click the very obvious link in the navigation bar at the top of this page or simply go here.

There’s not a whole lot (actually, there’s nothing) on the calendar right now because it’s brand new and is a bit experimental. Yes, we’re trying something new and, therefore, are just like Google Labs.

Well, the folks at Google Labs do more complex things than putting together an events calendar. The people at Google Labs also make some serious cash and we don’t. Other than that, we’re exactly like Google Labs.

Of course, we hope that a lot of groups and individuals submit events that we can put on the calendar so it won’t look so empty. To submit an event, simply go to the aforementioned events calendar link, find the submission form, fill in all the details and get it to us. We’ll handle the rest.

Oh, and bear in mind that the calendar is set up to hit search engines, meaning you could get pretty good exposure for your event. And it won’t cost you a dime.

What a deal!
