Want to caddy for Brittany Lincicome?
Lincicome, a Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) major winner, will play next month in the P&G NW Arkansas Championship presented by Walmart at the Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers next month. On Sept. 8, one individual will have the opportunity to caddy for Lincicome during her Pro am round on Sept. 8 at Pinnacle.
The opportunity is arranged by Caddy for a Cure, an organization that arranges such caddy opportunities for Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour and LPGA Tour events. People wanting the chance to caddy for Lincicome must head to the Caddy for a Cure website and click the appropriate link to bid in an eBay auction.
All of the money raised for the auction will go to charity. Specifically, the revenue will be sent to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, the LPGA Foundation in support of the USGA-Girls Golf Program, First Tee of Northwest Arkansas, Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton and Washington counties and a charity chosen by Lincicome.
According to a news release, the winner of the auction will “spend the day with Brittany on the driving range, putting green and golf course, experiencing each shot first-hand and being in the middle of the action of a professional playoff golf event. They will be shoulder to shoulder among the world’s best women players as they prepare to compete in this exciting official Tour event.”
“We are thrilled to participate again with this unique program that directly supports the charitable mission of the LPGA tournaments,” said Gail Graham, retired LPGA professional and president of the LPGA Tournament Owners Association, in the news release. “We are always looking for ways to get closer to our fans and this is a perfect and unique way to accomplish that, particularly with a player as outgoing as Brittany. This tournament is always exciting, so it’s a great venue for participating with Caddy For A Cure.”
Russ Holden, Caddy for a Cure founder and veteran PGA Tour caddie, said, his organization has been involved in PGA tours for the past seven years and this is the first year the group has worked with the LPGA.
“It is such an honor to be offering this wonderful opportunity with Brittany. We launched our program with the LPGA this year and had a great experience. When Brittany learned about our program, she approached us and asked how she could be a part. So she is not only a great player, she has a big heart for the game, the fans and for charity,” he said. “We always look forward to providing our caddie participants with experiences they will never forget, and this opportunity with Brittany at the P&G Northwest Arkansas Championship will be just that. It’s a great way for fans to make a difference in the lives of many people who really need it through the great game of golf.”
The auction for this opportunity will run through Sept. 2 or until sold, whichever occurs first. Interested participants can place their online bid in hopes of winning the opportunity. The winner will caddie during the Wednesday official pro am round on September 8th. The auction can be found from the individual player links on the caddyforacure.com homepage or directly on eBay.
