Weekend OTR — the Blue Beetle: Saved by a Hair

By: 10 July 2010 One Comment

Well, it’s Saturday and you know what that means — it’s time for another exciting installment of the famed Weekend OTR series.

This week we’ve got another great show for you — an episode of the Blue Beetle. While that particular character is best known for his exploits in the comic book world, the Blue Beetle did make it to radio where he was most famously portrayed by Frank Lovejoy.

As always, this episode is brought to you by our friends at OTRCat.com. If you want to purchase some old time radio shows in either MP3 or standard CD radio, hit the aforementioned link and give The Cat a visit.

At any rate, adjust those headphones (or turn up those speakers), click the below link and enjoy the show.

This is great! As you know, I’m a fan of the old Charlton Comics, and they published “The Blue Beetle” for a while. The great Steve Ditko (Spider-Man’s co-creator) redesigned the character and did some great issues of the “new” version.

And Frank Lovejoy was always a great radio actor (as well as film and television).

    Thanks!
