Weekend OTR — Sam Spade: Hot Hundred Grand Caper

By: 12 June 2010 No Comment

It’s the weekend again and that can only mean one thing — yet another installment of the almost famous Weekend OTR series.

We’ve got a great episode on tap this week, so why not start the weekend off right by kicking back to an exciting Sam Spade adventure?

Spade, a character created by Dashiell Hammett, was portrayed (throughout most of the series) by Howard Duff. The character was, indeed, a fine example of a hard-boiled detective of the type which dominated the airwaves after World War II.

As always, this episode is brought to you by our friends at OTRCat.com. If you’re looking for a quick, inexpensive way to pick up some of your favorite old time radio episodes, make sure to pay the cat a visit.

Having said all that, why not adjust those headphones (or turn up those speakers), click the “play” icon on the below player and enjoy a great example of OTR? Oh, and click here for more old time radio programs.
