I got an email earlier today from a scammer who identified himself as Robert Sexton, director of business development for some bunch for SPS Solutions. Seeing how I’ve never had any dealings with SPS Solutions or, indeed, had never heard of the company, I set about searching out what information I could find about Sexton and the company that was (apparently) extending a golden opportunity to a complete stranger.
As luck would have it, Sexton is a stinky ole scammer. Don’t believe me? Just run a Google search on Sexton and SPS Solutions and you’ll find all sorts of information floating around out there that’s been posted by irate email recipients.
So, here’s a warning — don’t fall for whatever this goon is selling. Here’s a copy of the email I received:
I represent a company called SPS Solutions, a company that does what’s known as advanced search engine placement. We reach a Network of over 36,000,000 people who are largely US based. Our Network is entirely opt-in, and the users on our Network allow us to present them with a preferred choice whenever they are looking for anything on the major search engines. (GOOGLE, YAHOO, BING and thirteen others)
I seek one source to send the users on our Network, from the major search engines, for home loans in Jonesboro and surrounding markets.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience. I will be in the office daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific time.
