An interview with Doris Tate – Democrat running for the Secretary of State’s office

By: 2 May 2010 No Comment

Doris Tate, the Sebastian County clerk and recorder, is running for the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office. She’s got a primary coming up on May 18 against Pat Obrien and Mark Wilcox. The Democrat who emerges from that race will face Republic Mark Martin in the November general election.

The office is open this year as Charlie Daniels, the incumbent, can’t run again due to term limits laws. Daniels was the commissioner of state lands prior to being elected secretary of state in 2002 and he’s now running for auditor of state with no major party opposition.
