An interview with Mark Martin – Republican running for Arkansas Secretary of State’s office

By: 29 April 2010 One Comment

Mark Martin — state representative from Prairie Grove by way of the Arkansas Delta — is the lone Republican in this year’s election for the Secretary of State’s office.

He, then, is focused on the November general election while the three Democrats running for the office — Pat O’Brien, Doris Tate and Mark Wilcox — have a primary on May 18. Click here to visit the podcast site and listen to an interview with Martin.

The office is open this year as Charlie Daniels, the incumbent, can’t run again due to term limits laws. Daniels was the commissioner of state lands prior to being elected secretary of state in 2002 and he’s now running for auditor of state with no major party opposition.

Check back here at First Arkansas News over the next few days to hear the interviews with all the candidates running for the Secretary of State’s office. If you’d like to visit the podcast archive and hear more candidate interviews, click here.
